In the monthly program offered on Feb. 1, you will get an introduction and learn what's different about this model.  This full-day session will dig deeper into the concepts and focus on applying them. Preregistration is required for this event.


Program Overview

The benefits of an engaged organization are obvious; how to get there is not. The purpose of this workshop is to take the mystery out of engagement by providing strategies, concepts, and tools you can use the very next day. During this workshop, you will learn:
•    The everyday conversations that build the foundation for the engaged organization.
•    The three leadership practices that make a difference.
•    The four principles to follow when you need to engage people in change.
•    Why meetings are the most overlooked, fast-track engagement opportunity there is.
•    How to prevent your engagement survey from disengaging your workforce.
•    The neuroscience of engagement.


This is a hands-on learning experience. By bringing your current engagement / change management issues to the workshop, you will derive the most value. While not required, attending with your client, leadership team, and/or steering committee will deepen your learning. Please join us for a practical, stimulating, and fun learning experience.


Registrants will receive a copy of Dick Axelrod's book: Terms of Engagement: New Ways of Leading and Changing Organizations.


Biography

Dick and Emily Axelrod founded the Axelrod Group, Inc., a consulting firm that pioneered the use of employee involvement to effect large scale organizational change. They now bring a combined sixty years of consulting and teaching experience to this work, with clients including Boeing, Chicago Public Schools, Calgary Health Authority, Coca Cola, Harley Davidson, Hewlett-Packard, and the UK’s National Health Service.

Dick and Emily are faculty in University of Chicago’s Leadership Arts Program, and Dick is faculty in Columbia University’s Principals and Practices in Organization Development. Emily serves on the board of the Organizational Design Forum. Dick and Emily are founding members of the Berrett-Koehler Authors Cooperative. Along with Julie Beedon and Robert Jacobs, they co authored You Don’t Have to Do It Alone: How to Involve Others to Get Things Done, which the New York Times called, “the best of the current crop of books on this subject.”

Dick is the author of the award-winning Terms of Engagement: New Ways of Leading and Changing Organizations. He is the recipient of the Organization Development Network’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
